Healthcare in the region will receive a $112 million injection to expand the Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully. A multistorey building will deliver a new inpatient unit, four operating theatres and spaces for outpatient services, with construction to be completed by 2026. The expansion will transform services at the hospital, ensuring Yarra Ranges communities can access world-class healthcare facilities close to home.

Schools across the region are experiencing a wave of upgrades, ensuring access to exceptional facilities for a well-rounded education. Manchester Primary School in Mooroolbark has a new open-plan classroom block with science, technology and art learning spaces as part of a $5 million revamp, and Lilydale High School boasts a new library and learning spaces courtesy of a $6.3 million refurbishment.

Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School has delivered the final stage of the school's master plan with the construction of the $8.6 million senior years learning building and administration space, and Mount Lilydale Mercy College has officially opened its heath learning centre and refurbished visual arts centre as part of a $13.6 million revamp.

Increased kindergarten capacity across the municipality ensures this focus on quality extends to all ages, solidifying the region’s position as a leader in education. 

Sport across the Yarra Ranges will get a major boost with a series of exciting upgrades transforming local venues. A world-class mountain bike hub with more than 100km of trails is in the works near Warburton, aiming to promote health and tourism. Kilsyth will get a new $9.3 million basketball court, and Morrison Recreation Reserve's netball courts are slated for resurfacing and lighting improvements later this year.
