The state government recently passed legislation and will be implementing a raft of rental reforms with most of them coming into effect this November.  As your property management agency, we are currently in the background looking at our processes to ensure that once these reforms come into play, we are prepared and already across all of these changes.  A breakdown of some of the key changes are as follows;

  • Rent increases - currently, the notice period to issue a rent increase is 60 days’ notice.  This will be changed to 90 days.
  • Serving a notice to vacate – the notice period will be increasing from 60 days to 90 days
  • Ban on rental bidding
  • Removal of the notice to vacate for ‘End of a Fixed Term’

Rest assured, before these changes come in, your property manager will be in contact with you to discuss how these changes may impact your renter or property.  As a specialist in property management, we can assure you we will stay abreast of all of the upcoming changes so that we can give you knowledgeable and expert property management advice.
